Biography
The rich, ethnic heritage of the Iron Range in northern Minnesota went with her when Marge Ford left there to live in Anchorage, Alaska many years ago. Generations of her family were musicians, and she and her sister and brother carry on that tradition.
Marge and her sister, Patti have written many of the songs on their recordings, and have been pleasred to note many other polka bands have covered their songs as well.
The Alaska Polka Chips perform regularly in Alaska, and have performed in the lower 48 states, from Las Vegas to Atlantic City, and from California to Florida, as well as internationally in Great Britain, Austria, Greece, Italy, the Caribbean and Australia.

BUTTON BOX ACCORDION LESSONS IN MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN IN JUNE
Marge Ford will be returning to Royalton, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin once again during the month of June to share information and expertise on playing the Button Box Accordion. With over 30 years teaching and performing experience, Marge teaches all ages and can help the beginning student play this wonderful instrument , or help develop technique and facility in the more advanced player. Whether your interest is amateur or professional, you will receive pertinent, useful information to improve your playing. | The Alaska Polka Chips play for all occasions and for years hosted a weekly polka radio show. Marge owns and operates Old Time Music Company which specializes in unusual instruments such as accordions, concertinas, harps, hammered and mountain dulcimers, psalteries, and a variety of other instruments. She also teaches and writes music for the Slovenian style button box accordion, and provides instruction on a variety of other free reed instruments.

In the summer of 2002, Marge Ford was inducted into the Polka Music Hall of Fame. This is a fitting tribute to someone who has dedicated so much of her life to the promotion of polka music.
In March 2007 Marge along with her sister Patti Gersich conducted workshops at the National Accordion Association Convention in Richardson Texas.
In May 2007 Marge Ford and the Alaska Polka Chips played at Big Joe's Polka Show festival in Branson Missouri. This show was televised for future shows.
